A leading engineering services provider is seeking a Substation Project Engineer to work remotely on Transmission projects. Candidates must be degree qualified electrical engineers with at least 3 years of experience in substation engineering up to 400kV. This role offers a competitive daily rate of £750 and involves creating designs, reviewing contractor work, and ensuring safety standards.

Job description

Role: Substation Project Engineer Sector: Transmission Location: Remote Start Date: ASAP Duration: 6-Months + Possible Extension Rates: £750 Daily Rate Inside IR35 via Umbrella Clearance: BPSS (DBS/DS, Financial Probity, Employment History) + Medical Questionnaire & Proof of Right to Work in the UK

Key Accountabilities:

• Creating outline scope, site location plans, primary plant layout and Single Line Diagrams for new build and asset replacement type projects, operating up to 400kV.
• Reviewing contractor/consultants detailed designs and witnessing Factory Acceptance Testing.
• Implementing safety by design principles to ensure that engineering and safety risks are adequately controlled.
• Support site and operational teams to ensure the quality of installations, with minimal risk to Network security.
• Evaluate tenders and procure and manage specialist services from consultants

Essential Qualifications/skill set required:

• Candidates must be degree qualified electrical engineers to be considered for this role.
• Previous Transmission experience required.
• A minimum of 3+ Years substation project engineer experience up to 400kV
• Proven experience in high-voltage substation design, operation, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in project management
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
• Full UK Working Rights
