We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Substance Misuse team atHMP Moorland,a men'scategory CPrison and young offender institution located in South Yorkshire.

Free parking at all sites, low turnover of staff, wellbeing days, strong relationships and partnerships, radio training and all other areas across the PPG pathway.

Hours

37.5 hours a week working 3 shifts 07:30-17:30 and1 shift 07:30-17:00.Will include 1 weekend incorporated in shift pattern.

Salary

This position is full time,you’ll receive an annual salary up to £49174per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As aSubstance Misuse Nurse,your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning
  • Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model
  • Be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers. You will work with individuals, on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and information
  • Support in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions. You will occasionally be required to support dispensing
  • Have an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person centred approach.

  • Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
  • If you are an NMP this would be advantageous
  • Must have experience of working within substance misuse
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
  • RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
  • Experience of working with opiate dependant patients.
  • Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
