Substance Misuse Health Care Suppot Worker

The closing date is 20 November 2025

To work as a member of the Community Drug & Alcohol Team under the supervision of redgistered staff and in accordance with the Health Care Support Worker Code of Practice.

The role will consist of clinical duties such as holding clinics for individuals with substance misuse problems and clinical administrative duties such as gathering patient information and data.

The post holder will deliver specific components of the service users care plan and will regularly be required to work without direct supervision.

Main duties of the job

Work within a Multi-Disciplinary Team under the direction of a registered nurse.

  • Hold pre-assessment and maintenance clinics for specific patients.
  • With support and supervision from Registered Nurses be responsible for and manage own workload and safety.
  • Participate in Needle Exchange and provide information regarding harm reduction.
  • Gather information/data for relevant systems and databases.
  • Assist in clinical administration duties.
