Job summary

Baker Hughes in Nailsea seeks a Quality Control Inspector to support inspection and verification of complex subsea control modules and equipment, ensuring adherence to engineering, manufacturing and quality requirements. You will contribute to continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence.

The role involves in-process and final inspections of mechanical assemblies, interpretation of drawings and procedures, and documentation accuracy.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Perform in-process inspections on mechanical assemblies or equipment.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
• Identify non-conformances and ensure corrective action is taken.
• Communicate effectively within a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts, assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions and inspection procedures.
• Verify components, materials, serial/part numbers, build records and test results against requirements.
• Ensure products are assembled and documented correctly throughout the build process.
• Complete inspection reports, quality records and documentation accurately.
• Raise NCRs where standards are not met and support investigations.
• Assist with corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering and QA teams to ensure compliance.
• Maintain high standards of quality and safety in manufacturing.
