Job summary

Clear Links Support is recruiting for One-to-One Study Skills Specialists to support students studying at South Lanarkshire College.

You will work with students to provide strategies to develop the study skills required in higher and further education, including time management, essay planning, spelling and grammar, memory, organisation and referencing.

Role pays £30 per hour plus £3.62 holiday pay per hour, with flexible hours, CPD training and a workplace pension.

Qualifications

• A degree and either a teaching qualification or a relevant PG qualification.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is desirable.
• Must be available to provide in-person support at South Lanarkshire College.

Responsibilities

The role:

You will be working with students to provide strategies to develop the study skills required when studying in higher and further education. This can include developing skills in time management, essay planning, improving spelling and grammar, as well as strategies to develop students’ memory, organisation and referencing skills.

Pay: £30 per hour plus £3.62 holiday pay per hour.

Role requirements:

• Applicants must have:
  • A degree AND one of the following:
  • A teaching qualification
  • A relevant PG qualification
  • Professional experience supporting individuals with disabilities
• Membership of one of the following professional bodies is desirable but not essential: BDA, PATOSS, Dyslexia Guild, ADSHE
• It is desirable that applicants have experience in a similar role within the last five years. Applicants should also have an understanding of the impact of disabilities in the further/higher education context.
• Applicants must be available to provide in person support at South Lanarkshire College.
• Applicants must be able to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
