Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Study Director – Analytical Chemistry to join the Environmental/Ecotoxicology team at Alconbury, Cambridgeshire. The role demands oversight of studies, regulatory compliance, and effective communication with Sponsors.

You will lead study plans, ensure data integrity, and supervise staff while coordinating with cross‑functional teams. Travel to meet sponsors and train trainees may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry (or equivalent).
• Significant experience within a Study Director role in Analytical Chemistry.
• Knowledge of GLP and regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of data interpretation and report writing for studies.
• Experience of customer service communication.
• Proficiency in project management skills.
• Ability to conduct literature reviews.
• No suitable public transport links due to site location.

Responsibilities

• Perform the duties of a Study Director/Principal Investigator for studies allocated by Management.
• Ensure Study Plans conform with the study design and are prepared, signed and circulated; ensure test methods meet regulatory requirements.
• Monitor timelines and hold startup meetings to ensure staff are aligned and to minimize unnecessary animal use where applicable.
• Ensure test items are tested for identity and hazards; obtain relevant toxicology data from literature.
• Review data for accuracy and ensure GLP compliance and QA audits are followed.
• Communicate study progress with Sponsors and internal stakeholders; draft and final reports.
• Transfer data and reports to Archive per SOPs.
• Co-ordinate supply of vessels and equipment for study start up.
• Travel as necessary; provide guidance to sponsors and staff on study design and regulatory issues.
