- Maintaining the studio: keeping it tidy (no cleaning required, the studio has a cleaner), ensuring all fabric and scrap fabric is put away in the correct place, ensuring all patterns and pattern pieces are in the correct place etc.
- Setting up and maintaining stock systems to ensure all fabric and components are replenished in a timely manner
- Creating and managing the studio schedule to ensure orders are cut in a timely manner (on schedule) and delivered to the machinist in a timely manner (on schedule for the client fitting) for both in-house production and remote production
- Preparing orders (fabric and pattern) for the sample cutters on the days they are in
- Preparing cut orders for the machinists on the days they are in
- Preparing and liaising with machinists for orders made remotely. Liaising with machinists on receiving back finished orders
- Creating and managing the alterations schedule to ensure orders are finished in plenty of time (at least two weeks prior to delivery fitting)
- Liaising with clients over fittings where necessary, ensuring clients fittings work with the studio scheduling and vice versa. Ensuring orders are ready in plenty of time (at least four weeks prior) to the client fitting.
Skills and Experience Required
- Extremely organised with the ability to set up and maintain studio systems and forward plan
- Very mature, responsible, reliable and consistent
- Have an interest in production and/ or fashion
- Have a ‘can do’ attitude, but able to ask questions and judge when something needs checking
- Communicate effectively with the team and brand founder
- Personable (will need to liaise with clients)
