Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is supporting a Cardiff architectural practice in recruiting an Associate Architect, Senior Associate Architect or Director. The role leads projects from concept to completion, manages deadlines, budgets and teams, and drives client relationships and bid opportunities.

The position offers senior responsibility with emphasis on strategic growth, financial performance, and leadership within a growing Cardiff studio.

Qualifications

• ARB registration and a UK architectural qualification.
• Significant post‑qualification experience in UK practice.
• Strong track record of project management and delivery.
• Experience managing deadlines, programmes, budgets, and resources.
• Knowledge of cash flow, invoicing and project financial management.
• Experience in people management and team development.
• Understanding of employment law and HR responsibilities.
• Health and safety management experience.
• Excellent design, technical and client-facing skills.
• Experience in business development at Senior Associate/Director level.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit software.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural projects from concept through to completion.
• Manage project programmes, deadlines, budgets, resources and delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure high standards.
• Manage client and consultant relationships.
• Oversee design, planning and technical delivery.
• Manage cash flow, invoicing, fees and project financial performance.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to staff.
• Support recruitment and resource planning.
• Contribute to bids, tenders and business development.
• Identify and develop new client and project opportunities.
• Support growth and strategic direction of the Cardiff studio.
