Job description
Student Support Assistant (SEND)

Full time: 8:30-3:30

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant.

Role Overview

You will be working under the direction/guidance of the class teacher/SENCO/SEN Manager, to supervise and provide support for students with SEND to enable them to learn as effectively as possible on their own and in group situations, considering their specialist needs. You will support the students academically KS3-5 (language, reading, writing, spelling and mathematics) and encourage concentration and social skills. You will be responsible for the delivery of any special programmes & monitor the students' progress/report.

Responsibilities
  • Helping Individual Students: Assist students who need extra help in class, ensuring they understand lessons and can join in activities.
  • Working with Teachers: Work closely with teachers to create special plans for students with different needs, like learning disabilities or behavioural challenges.
  • Dealing with Behaviour: Help students behave well in class by using special strategies to keep things calm and friendly.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
