Salary: £33,000 to £38,000

Hours: 8:45am to 3:45pm

The Role of a Student Services Manager

You will be responsible for managing a team and play a vital role in supporting students with their learning. You will liase with parents and guardians to ensure students wellbeing is the full focus during their time in education. You will be responsible for finding new ways of supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.

The School

This Provision caters for pupils between 11-16 who are permanently excluded or otherwise cannot access a mainstream School. Young people in the setting are referred to the PRU by schools, academies or the local authority.

Requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues affecting young people including barriers to learning
  • Experience of planning and delivering education sessions with groups of young people
  • Using effective interventions to meet students needs
  • Experience of using effective monitoring systems to monitor and measure the educational, personal, social and emotional development of young people.
  • Experience of supporting teachers and continuing this work in their absence if necessary
  • Assisting in pastoral, social and welfare matters pf students and staff
  • Experience of managing, leading, motivating and developing staff and teams successfully.
  • Ability to intervene in difficult situations and challenge young people in an appropriate manner, promoting positive attitudes and behaviours
