The Strategy, Governance, and External Relations (SGER) service leads the university in both its outward facing activities and our internal corporate relationships and communications. The team covers a range of activities, including Communications, Events and Engagement, Governance, Marketing, Web and Design, Strategic Planning, UK Recruitment and Admissions and Administrative Services. The staff comprises a mix of specialisms to ensure the university is positioned with a distinctive voice and creates impact in terms of both reputation and revenue.
SGER is seeking to appoint an UK Student Recruitment Manager to join the existing UK Student Recruitment Team. This newly created role seeks to expand and intensify our recruitment and conversion activities across the UK.
Reporting to the Head of Admissions and UK Recruitment and working closely with academic faculties and professional services, particularly Admissions, Marketing and Events, to deliver the university’s UK recruitment strategy. You will lead the development and delivery of recruitment activities to maximise opportunities and meet UK student recruitment targets. This requires a strong understanding of UK Higher Education student recruitment and admissions, including current challenges and strategies to overcome them. A key part of the role is identifying effective tactics in a changing HE landscape to attract a diverse student body. Using sector knowledge and best practice, you will ensure our activities provide value to prospective students and raise awareness of the university.
The role involves regular travel across Scotland and the rest of the UK, including overnight stays, evenings and weekends. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, along with confidence driving to remote locations.
