Job summary

Cancer Research UK is seeking an enthusiastic undergraduate student to join the Centre for Drug Development (CDD) as a Student Portfolio Analyst. You will support portfolio management tasks, data analysis and reporting, helping forecast resources and develop visualisation tools.

Qualifications

• Must be in 2nd year of undergraduate study (or combined undergrad/Masters).
• Expect 2:1 or grade B in second-year science degree.
• 3 A levels (or equivalent) with grade B or above, preferably in a biological science.
• Start in July 2027 (start date negotiable).
• Must have right to live and work in the UK; visa sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with gathering, analysing and presenting information about our portfolio of early-phase drug development projects to support review and management of the portfolio.
• Support routine and targeted portfolio reviews, create/update tools to gather and present information, coordinate provision and internal review, and organise logistics for reviews.
• Support monthly Portfolio Review Team meetings by writing minutes, preparing slides and performing other activities as needed.
• Assist with user account management for Portfolio Management/Dashboard tools.
• Ensure project information in Portfolio Management/Dashboard tools is up to date by reviewing data and prompting Project Leaders to update information.
• Update and maintain resource planning models to capture functional group resource forecasting and coordinate information gathering across groups and projects.
• Assist with developing data visualisation methods and tools for portfolio information and maintain up-to-date information.
• Create, update and maintain models and trackers for effective delivery of portfolio activities and analyses.
• Support change initiatives within Portfolio Management and across the centre, including benchmarking, stakeholder management and training material development.
• Maintain awareness of Portfolio Management practices and trends in the pharmaceutical sector.
