Derby College Group (DCG) are recruiting a Student Engagement Mentor to join our dedicated Student Experience and Pastoral Support team, based at our Roundhouse Campus.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people facing challenges that affect their learning. By providing tailored support and guidance, mentors will help students overcome social, emotional, and behavioral barriers that hinder academic progress. Working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, mentors will focus on raising aspirations, fostering resilience, and promoting positive learning behaviors. Through one‑to‑one mentoring and targeted interventions, this role empowers students to develop essential study skills, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in both education and personal growth.

You’ll be highly capable of communicating effectively with a wide range of people and have excellent interpersonal skills. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential to be successful within this role, along with competency when using IT systems. If you have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in coaching and/or mentoring then that’s great, but if not, we will support you to gain this qualification!
