The Hive Officer at University Academy 92 (UA92) sits within the Student Success team and will run the day-to-day Student Hive, acting as the first point of contact for questions, concerns or needed support. You’ll provide a welcoming front‑of‑house service, responding in person and online and signposting to the right teams.
This is a permanent, part-time role at 0.7 FTE (26.25 hours per week) based on UA92 Campuses.
UA92 was founded with a clear purpose – to make Higher Education more accessible and create opportunities for people who might not always see university as a place for them.
Co-founded by the Class of 92 and Lancaster University, we challenge some of the traditional thinking around Higher Education. Social mobility, widening participation and inclusion sit at the heart of why we exist.
For us, access isn’t only about getting through the door. It’s about what happens once you’re here. Students need to know where to turn when they have a question, when something isn’t going quite right or when they simply need someone to point them in the right direction.
The Hive is an important part of that. It’s a visible, approachable place for students to ask for help and get connected to the right support without having to work out the system for themselves.
We’re looking for a Hive Officer who enjoys working with people, to support what someone actually needs and understands that sometimes a helpful conversation at the right time can make a real difference to a student’s experience.
Working within our Student Success team, you’ll help run the day-to-day Student Hive and be one of the first people students come to when they have a question, concern or need some support.
You’ll provide a welcoming and professional front-of-house service, responding to enquiries in person and through our online channels. Sometimes you’ll be able to resolve something there and then. Other times, you’ll need to understand what’s going on, identify the right support and make sure the student gets connected to a the right team.
The role also gets involved in some of the key moments in university life, including induction, Welcome Week and transition activities, helping new students find their feet and know where they can go for support from the beginning.
UA92 is committed to building a diverse and inclusive community where everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their potential. We actively encourage applications from individuals from underrepresented backgrounds and those with non-traditional career paths. Additionally, we welcome candidates who have an understanding of inclusion.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. UA92 cannot sponsor visas for this role.
