Job summary

Nomura in London invites an Associate to join our Finance team as Structured Rates Product Control. You will collaborate with Traders to reconcile P&L with Risk, Operations and other teams, and own valuation controls and month-end reporting for complex derivatives.

You will monitor KRIs, understand business performance, and contribute to the development of booking models for new rate products, while communicating clearly with senior stakeholders and upholding a strong control culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in product control and accounting for complex structured derivatives.
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders and ability to explain complex issues clearly.
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Traders to reconcile P&L differences with Risk Management and other departments.
• Own month-end processes including valuation controls, balance sheet substantiation and reporting to senior management.
• Understand business performance and independent price verification of the trading inventory.
• Monitor KRIs and performance thresholds and elevate issues to management.
• Involvement in new product initiatives and evolution of complex derivative booking models.

Overview

• Liaise with the Traders to reconcile any differences or discrepancies in P&L and also be confident in dealing with Risk Management, Operations and other departments to resolve issues.
• Take ownership of month-end processes including valuation controls, balance sheet substantiation and reporting to senior trading and finance management.
• Understand business performance and independent price verification of the trading inventory.
• Monitor KRIs and performance thresholds and elevate issues/exceptions/concerns to management for resolution.
• Involvement in new product initiates and evolution of complex derivative booking models.

• Product control and accounting experience of complex structured derivative products.
