Job summary

Nomura in London is seeking an Associate for Structured Rates Product Control. You will work with Traders, Risk Management and Operations to ensure accurate P&L, controls and reporting.

You will own month-end processes, perform independent price verification, and help evolve derivative booking models while building deep understanding of rates products and market risk.

Qualifications

  • Product control and accounting experience of complex structured derivative products.
  • Experience liaising with Traders, Risk Management and Operations.
  • Ability to perform month-end valuation and P&L reconciliations.

Overview:
  • Liaise with the Traders to reconcile any differences or discrepancies in P&L and also be confident in dealing with Risk Management, Operations and other departments to resolve issues.
  • Take ownership of month-end processes including valuation controls, balance sheet substantiation and reporting to senior trading and finance management.
  • Understand business performance and independent price verification of the trading inventory.
  • Monitor KRIs and performance thresholds and elevate issues/exceptions/concerns to management for resolution.
  • Involvement in new product initiates and evolution of complex derivative booking models.

Qualifications
  • Product control and accounting experience of complex structured derivative products.

  • Strong numerical and communication skills, demonstrate control mind-set and take initiative to identify and solve problems.
  • Need to demonstrate confidence in discussing complex issues with senior individuals.

  • An understanding of rates derivatives including options and hybrid products.
  • Familiarity with IR derivatives.
  • Strong interest in Financial Markets and Banking.
