Job summary

Nomura in London seeks an Associate/Junior VP for Portfolio / Specialty Financing ASC within Global Markets. The role focuses on underwriting, structuring and executing specialty finance transactions across EMEA, with emphasis on asset-backed and receivables financing.

You will work with investment banking and sales teams, model transactions through lifecycles, and contribute to risk management and decision memos.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or MSc preferred.
At least 3 years of structured finance underwriting experience in an investment bank or private equity fund.
Strong quantitative and technical abilities including financial modelling.
Proven project management, analytical and credit skills.

Responsibilities

Underwrite, structure and execute structured financings of specialty finance platforms and receivables in EMEA
Research asset classes and markets to form trading views and inform underwriting, structuring and risk management
Coordinate transaction due diligence and execution work streams with third party advisers and legal counsels
Model transactions throughout their lifecycles (origination, underwriting and post-closing)
Work in partnership with client coverage teams to identify and assess opportunities and contribute to transaction idea generation
Prepare internal transaction approval memos and collaborate with credit risk and other control functions throughout transaction lifecycle
