Job summary

Simpson Judge in London is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Structured Finance team. You will advise on securitisations, asset-backed financings, CLOs and cross-border transactions, working closely with senior lawyers on sophisticated deals.

Structured Finance Associate / Senior Associate

Structured Finance & Securitisation

Working Pattern: Hybrid

I'm working with a leading international law firm that wants to add an Associate or Senior Associate to its London Structured Finance team.

This suits a finance lawyer who wants to build their career in structured finance and securitisation at a firm with a strong international presence in the product. You'll work alongside experienced Finance Partners on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions.

The London practice is ranked in the top tiers by the Legal 500 across securitisation, derivatives and structured products, and debt capital markets. It advises arrangers, lenders, investors, sponsors and originators on transactions across the capital structure.

The Role

You'll advise on a broad range of structured finance matters, which may include:

• Public and private securitisations
• Asset-backed financings and warehouse facilities
• CLOs and other structured credit transactions
• Residential and commercial mortgage-backed transactions
• Repackagings and structured products
• Derivatives connected to structured transactions
• Regulatory analysis relevant to securitisation, including UK and EU securitisation rules
• Cross-border structured finance transactions

You'll work closely with senior lawyers and take on more responsibility for your own matters and client relationships as your experience grows. The level of autonomy will reflect your experience.

About You

The firm is open to lawyers at all PQE levels, from junior Associates through to Senior Associates.

Ideally, you'll have:

• A background in a recognised finance, structured finance or capital markets team
• Experience of securitisation or structured finance transactions, or closely related finance work
• Strong drafting and transactional skills
• Sound commercial awareness
• The ability to manage your workload and run matters with appropriate supervision
• For more senior candidates, experience running transactions and managing client relationships

The firm is also interested in candidates from adjacent practices, such as banking, DCM or derivatives, who want to specialise in structured finance.
