Job summary

DCS Recruitment is seeking an experienced data cabling engineer in North Shields for a national structured cabling contractor. The role runs for about seven weeks with potential continuation on later projects.

Shift is 8:00–17:00, Monday to Friday, on-site. You will install CAT6 cabling and containment and upgrade WiFi networks, with some outdoor work. Candidates should have a valid ECS/CSCS card, DBS check, and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid ECS/CSCS card or equivalent.
• DBS check completed within the last 2 years.
• Be willing to complete first aid awareness.
• Be willing to complete manual handling and safety courses.
• Have 2+ years in the communications industry.
• Have proof of right to work in the UK (ID).
• Own PPE and termination kit and drill(s).

Responsibilities

• Carry out wifi network upgrades and data cabling to existing network infrastructure.
• Install CAT6 cabling and containment for indoor and outdoor work.
• Work on external and internal network installations on site.

8 hour day shifts 8am-5pm Monday to Friday

The cabling engineers on this project will be carrying out wifi network upgrades adding new wireless access points and data cabling to existing network infrastructure. Predominantly CAT6 and containment, which can involve external work as well as internal.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a valid ECS/Equivalent structured cabling/comms industry related card or CSCS
• Have had a DBS check within the last 2 years
• Must have or be willing to complete first aid awareness course (approx £10 online)
• Must have or be willing to complete manual Handling, asbestos awareness and working at heights (Course can be provided free of charge)
• Have a minimum of 2 years comms industry experience
• Be able to provide relevant work references and proof of right to work in the UK (ID) prior to start
• Have their own PPE and hand tools including termination kit and drill(s)
