Job summary

Billington Structures Ltd. is seeking a Paint Shop Operative to join the manufacturing team at the Wombwell facility. You will prepare and spray-paint structural steel components, ensuring safe, efficient work to the required standard.

The role requires attention to detail and an ability to work in a busy production environment. Training will be provided, with a permanent position based at Wombwell after six weeks at the Sheffield site.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, engineering or industrial environment.
• Flexible and reliable approach to work.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions to specification.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality of work.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-volume spray painting of structural steel components.
• Apply paint and protective coatings as specified.
• Ensure all work meets quality and finish standards.
• Operate overhead gantry cranes safely when moving and positioning components.
• Follow production specifications, processes and quality requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Comply with health and safety procedures and site regulations.
• Complete tasks efficiently within production timescales.
• Identify and report quality issues or defects.
• Work as part of a wider production team.
• Support production targets with a proactive approach.
