Job summary

Crouch Waterfall is seeking a Civil & Structural Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in Basingstoke. You will support the technical delivery of projects ranging from smaller schemes to up to £20m, covering rail, bridges and temporary works design.

You will work with experienced engineers, with clear development pathways and support towards Chartered Engineer status, expanding your skills beyond pure design.

Qualifications

• Strong grounding in civil and structural design principles.
• Open to graduates and early-career engineers.
• Relevant practical experience through placements or projects is advantageous but not essential.
• Fluent English with the right to work in the UK.

• Assist with feasibility, detailed design and construction support to meet programme and budget requirements.

This role is offered by Crouch Waterfall, a subsidiary of Vulcain Engineering Group.

Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a Civil & Structural Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team based in Basingstoke.

You will support the technical delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from smaller schemes through to projects valued up to £20m. These include work across rail, bridges, and temporary works design, among other civil structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Working within a multi-disciplinary design team on a varied portfolio of UK projects including
• bridges, structural steel, reinforced concrete, and temporary works.
• Supporting the design of various structures such as steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber, as well as the assessment, repair, and strengthening of existing structures.
• Assisting with project delivery from feasibility through to construction support, helping meet programme and budget requirements.
• Attending site surveys and client meetings, developing confidence in a client-facing role.
• Building project management skills, including exposure to bidding, tendering, and delivery processes.
• Gaining insight into the commercial and financial aspects of project delivery.
• Supporting technical activities such as structural inspections, surveys, feasibility studies, and programme preparation.

You’ll be supported by experienced senior engineers within a fast-growing team, with clear pathways for development, including support towards Chartered Engineer status and opportunities to broaden your skills beyond pure design.

Preferred Experience

• A BEng (or higher) in Civil and/or Structural Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
• A graduate member of ICE or IStructE, or willing to work towards professional membership.
• A strong grounding in civil & structural design principles.
• Open to graduates and early-career engineers
• Relevant practical experience gained through work, placements or projects is advantageous but not essential
• Exposure or understanding of structures such as steel and reinforced concrete.
• Fluent in English with the permanent right to work in the UK.
• Based within a reasonable commuting distance of Basingstoke, or willing to relocate (this role does not include travel or relocation expenses).
