Job summary

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to deliver and review structural analyses, calculations, models, drawings, and technical reports for the GBE‑N programme. You will support substantiation activities, ensuring regulatory compliance and governance across projects.

You will collaborate across civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, and safety teams, addressing complex loading cases and seismic demands where required, while mentoring graduates and early-career

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering, working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent experience.
• Experienced in the analysis and design of reinforced concrete, steel, and civil engineering structures with an understanding of UK and international design standards.
• Knowledge of structural behaviour under complex loading conditions, including construction, environmental, and accidental load cases.
• Familiarity with design substantiation, technical reporting, engineering assurance processes, and structural analysis software and digital engineering tools.
• Strong communicator with excellent problem-solving skills, able to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders.

• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, quality requirements, and CDM 2015 obligations.
• Support continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and mentoring of graduate and early-career engineers.

Your Profile

• Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering, working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or offering equivalent experience.
• Experienced in the analysis and design of reinforced concrete, steel, and civil engineering structures, with a solid understanding of UK and international design standards.
• Knowledge of structural behaviour under complex loading conditions, including construction, environmental, and accidental load cases.
• Familiarity with design substantiation, technical reporting, engineering assurance processes, and structural analysis software and digital engineering tools.
• Strong communicator with excellent problem-solving skills, able to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, manage technical interfaces, and engage with stakeholders.

Knowledge or experience using American codes and standards is desirable but not obligatory. Experience working within the Nuclear Industry and particularly on nuclear new build projects is advantageous.
