Structural Engineer | Lisburn, Northern Ireland | Full Time | Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm| £35,000–£56,000 (DOE)

Our client is a dynamic and forward-thinking structural engineering consultancy with a strong reputation across the UK, including offices in the Cotswolds, Northampton, Chichester and Edinburgh.

They are excited to announce the launch of their brand-new office in Northern Ireland and are looking for driven, ambitious individuals to become the foundation of this growing team.

This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established company while helping shape a new branch from the ground up. They are looking for people who are not only talented engineers but also passionate about building a collaborative team, defining their local culture, and being part of something substantial from the very start.

Please note: Our client is open to applications from junior to mid-level engineers with a minimum of 2 years’ UK/Ireland experience, as well as from more experienced candidates.

Ideal candidates will have:
  • 2–10 years’ experience in structural engineering (flexible for exceptional candidates)
  • BSc/BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (preferably 1st Class)
  • Strong foundation design experience
  • Broad knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry and foundation design
  • Background in residential or housing development preferred
  • Must be a true structural/civil engineer (not a technician)
  • UK experience essential
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and professional
  • Driving licence required (exceptions may be considered for outstanding candidates)
What will your role look like?
  • Act as the technical foundation of the new Lisburn office
  • Mentor graduate engineers and support their professional development
  • Manage your own workload and maintain high technical standards
  • Work across a wide variety of projects, including residential, commercial and infrastructure
  • Gain exposure to all aspects of structural engineering
  • Develop expertise across multiple materials and methods
  • Company specialises in timber structures (training provided)
  • Use modern analysis and design software, including AutoCAD, Masterseries, RFEM, Tekla TEDDS and others
  • The company uses around 21 software packages
  • Training provided for all software – willingness to learn is key
  • Collaborate with teams across multiple UK offices
  • Work approximately 90% office-based with occasional site visits
  • Handle multiple projects (up to 9 per week) in a fast-paced environment
