In a nutshell…

Our client is a leading provider of engineering solutions for critical infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth and new project wins across the UK, they are now looking to expand their engineering division and seek an experienced Structural Design Engineer to take ownership of structural design for infrastructure support systems. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong experience in structural engineering.


What's involved for the Structural Design Engineer…

  • Designing and delivering structural solutions for infrastructure support systems (e.g., control rooms, panel enclosures, gantries, frames, battery-storage supports).
  • Producing structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Ensuring designs comply with British/Euro standards and relevant codes.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, and control systems engineers.
  • Conducting site visits and structural inspections to support design verification and installation.
  • Supporting risk assessments, design reviews, and quality assurance processes.
  • Liaising with contractors, clients, and project stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.


What you'll need…

  • Proven experience (2-7+ years) in structural design
  • Strong technical design skills within CAD software or similar
  • Knowledge of British/Euro structural standards and codes.
  • Experience in infrastructure environments is advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to conduct structural calculations is a must
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
