Overview

Structural Design Engineer — £40,000 - £60,000 P.A + Excellent Benefits. Full Time, Permanent. Nottingham / Derby area.

What’s involved for the Structural Design Engineer

• Designing and delivering structural solutions for infrastructure support systems (e.g., control rooms, panel enclosures, gantries, frames, battery-storage supports).
• Producing structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ensuring designs comply with British/Euro standards and relevant codes.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, and control systems engineers.
• Conducting site visits and structural inspections to support design verification and installation.
• Supporting risk assessments, design reviews, and quality assurance processes.
• Liaising with contractors, clients, and project stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.

What you’ll need

• Proven experience (2-7+ years) in structural design.
• Strong technical design skills within CAD software or similar.
• Knowledge of British/Euro structural standards and codes.
• Experience in infrastructure environments is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to conduct structural calculations is a must.
• Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
