Overview

Structural Engineer

Location: London

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Up to £45,000pa

We are looking for two experienced Structural Project Engineers. Ideally the candidate would have a minimum of two years' UK experience of Structural design within residential and commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

You will be expected to support our Principal engineers and Directors across the group. The role involves mentoring less experienced team members and developing your own skills. Each engineer has a number of projects and clients to manage at any one time with a requirement to meet the needs and demands of our clients and business goals. You will ensure quality deliverables and client satisfaction in conformance with our accredited processes and procedures as recognised within the industry.

Specific duties include:

• Produce detailed structural calculations and sketches
• Prepare construction drawings and specifications
• Carry out site visits to verify construction complies with drawings
• Be commercially aware of costing, budgets and quotations
• Demonstrate good fundamental knowledge of structural engineering design

Qualifications

Essential Experience:

• Minimum two years' experience within structural design including steelwork, reinforced concrete and masonry construction to Euro Code standard
• Proficient use of AutoCAD, Masterseries and TEDDS design software
• Producing detailed structural calculations and sketches
• Preparation of construction drawings and specifications
• Commercial awareness of costing, budgets and quotations
• Report writing
• Site visits to verify construction complies with construction drawings

Desirable Experience:

• Understanding of STAAD.Pro, SCIA and Revit
• Project management and leadership skills
• Willing to work towards or nearing Chartered Status
