Responsibilities
  • Conducting site inspections and assessing existing structures for repair and/or replacement
  • Designing new structures and/or modifications to existing structures using appropriate design codes and standards
  • Preparing detailed structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Coordinating with other disciplines (e.g. process, mechanical, electrical) to ensure that structural design is fully integrated into overall project design
  • Participating in design reviews, project meetings, and construction site visits
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and drafters
  • Contributing to an agile working arrangement that provides flexibility while ensuring effective project delivery
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
  • Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership
  • Experience in the water and wastewater industry
  • Knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes, British Standards)
  • Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g. Staad Pro, ETABS, SAP2000)
  • Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015
