An employee-owned consultancy in Croydon is seeking a structural or temporary works design engineer. This role offers the chance to manage your own workload and interact directly with clients within a collaborative environment. Ideal candidates will have 2-6 years of design experience, proven rail project experience, and will thrive in a supportive workplace focused on professional development and chartership.
Are you a structural or temporary works design engineer who enjoys client interaction and seeing designs come to life on site?
Would you like to join a business that gives you autonomy, support and a clear route to chartership?
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Croydon – hybrid after settling‑in period
This employee‑owned consultancy is known for its open culture, faster progression, and strong sense of community. The Croydon office has a social, close‑knit team of around 12, and you’ll be stepping into a key position taking over established project work within the rail sector, including bridges, canopies and temporary works.
The role suits an “all‑rounder” design engineer with either structural or temporary works experience who’s keen to broaden into the other discipline. You’ll liaise directly with clients, manage your own workload, and play a visible part in shaping design solutions across multiple rail projects.
Expect real variety, technical challenge, and the opportunity to learn from highly experienced senior engineers who’ll actively support your professional development and chartership journey.
