Stress Engineer - Rocket Propulsion

Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 + excellent benefits

Location: Kidderminster (Hybrid available)

A truly unique opportunity to join a world leading Rocket Propulsion Technology organisation!

We develop and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in Defence & Security. The Design team is responsible for new and modified rocket motors and related systems. As a Junior Stress Engineer, you'll support analysis activities including structural modelling, stress assessments, and the preparation of documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the analysis of rocket motor hardware and propellant systems using FEA tools.
  • Learn and apply software tools such as Abaqus, Altair-Hyperworks, Fortran, and Matlab (training provided).
  • Support the assessment of materials and test results to help validate structural models.
  • Contribute to structural test plans and take part in design reviews and investigations.
  • Help prepare project documentation such as analysis reports and design records.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural Engineering or Materials Science.
  • Some knowledge of materials behaviour and structural analysis.
  • Experience (academic or placement) using FEA software such as ABAQUS.
  • Familiarity with CAD modelling is an advantage.
  • Enthusiastic to learn, with strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
