Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Prestwick is seeking a Stress Engineer to deliver high-quality structural analysis and repair solutions for aircraft components.

You will evaluate repairs to meet certification and airworthiness regulations, create substantiation, and perform analyses using hand methods and software. Join our Advanced Structures team to work with composites and cross-disciplinary collaboration in a fast-paced MRO environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering and aerospace experience.
  • Detail-oriented with a methodical, quality-focused approach.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

At our Prestwick Service Centre, we specialise in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of aircraft engine nacelle systems and engine components. What You Will Do

As a Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality structural analysis and repair solutions.

  • Evaluating and designing structural repairs in compliance with certification requirements and Airworthiness Authority regulations
  • Creating structural substantiation for repairs and modifications to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant solutions
  • Performing structural analysis using both hand calculations and computer-based methods
  • Working with composite materials and established repair design practices
  • Ensuring compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements, including EH&S, Code of Ethics, Intellectual Property, and International Trade Compliance

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with experience using MathCAD, FEA, and analysis tools such as Patran and Nastran
  • A degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline
  • Experience in a similar role in an aerospace environment is essential
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical, quality-focused approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
