Reed, on behalf of United Utilities are looking for a contract Street Works Auditor to join their Manchester based team.

Client: United Utilities

Role: Street Works Auditor

Length of Contract: 6 month rolling

Hourly rate: £17.29 per hour

Location: Eccles WWTW, M30 7DR

Job Purpose:

delivering the Network and Street Works audit, Assurance and testing programme and contributing to its development.

To deliver best practice and improved UU and Partner Network and Street Works performance, within a tightly regulated Street Works environment

Responsibilities

Responsible for day to day Network and Street Works auditing, to the standards and programme defined by the Senior Network Auditor

Support the Senior Network Auditor in liaison with internal clients, Network Partners and external Auditing contractors on Network and Street Works quality issues

Provide and interpret quality, audit and testing data to the Senior Network Auditor relating to compliance of Network and Street Works with NRSWA, SHOH and all other relevant regulations and best practice documents

Satisfy the requirements of UU on all aspects of Network and Street Works Auditing and Assurance

Support best practice within Asset Performance for Network and Street Works Quality Assurance and audit activities

Essential communication, influencing and interpersonal skills within team

Interaction with and influencing of Highways Authority on Network and Street Works Quality Assurance and Auditing matters

Support the Street Works Team Leader in the efficient delivery of the full audit and Assurance assessment for all Network and Street Works activities

Working with clients, external partners and QA audit and Assurance providers to deliver a customer focused service that delivers optimal value for UU and its partners

Short term planning involves reacting to new problems and changes in workload

Assisting in medium term planning includes supporting new and existing plans

Assisting in long term planning which includes contributing to the production of operational plans from strategic initiatives

Decision Making, Authority and Control

Decision making in day to day delivery of the Auditing of Network and Street Works activities and analysis of the data

Supporting the Audit and Assurance programme

Working with UU, its contract staff, its external Assurance and Auditing contractors and the Highways Authorities at all levels, often in difficult environments, within a very tightly controlled and regulated environment

Requirements

Full NRSWA Qualification, covering all aspects of construction, monitoring, supervision and Auditing of Street Works with an up to date ID Card

A good understanding of the regulations which the role and the department operates – including NRSWA, SHOH, UKAS, etc and all other relevant regulations

Essential communication, influencing and planning

Systematic and accurate

An extensive knowledge and experience of all aspects of Network and Street Works testing and Auditing

Extensive Network and/or Street Works Auditing experience

An ability to work under pressure, in response to UU client requirements, workload and business needs

Ensure that Auditing and reporting is undertaken in a structured manner to tight deadlines

Remain up to date with legislation, standards and technical practices

Planning and Organising

Proactive management of own workload and time with minimum supervision

A full UK drivers Licence
