Job summary

Dyson Farming Limited is seeking a Soft Fruit Agronomist to provide high-quality agronomic advice across the company’s expanding strawberry enterprise. You will manage crop protection strategies, monitor crops, and procure inputs while supporting IPM and environmental stewardship.

You will work with the Head Grower and Operations Manager to deliver high-yielding, quality crops within budget and regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

• Provide agronomic support across strawberry crops grown in glasshouse, plastic greenhouse and tunnel production systems.
• Undertake regular crop walks and monitoring to identify pest, disease, nutritional and crop health issues.
• Develop and maintain technically robust crop protection programmes.
• Provide timely crop protection recommendations in line with current legislation, product approvals and resistance-management guidance.
• Work with the Head Grower to integrate agronomic recommendations with irrigation, nutrition, climate management, crop husbandry and production objectives.
• Develop and promote Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and encourage responsible product use.

Responsibilities

• Lead agronomy monitoring and crop protection planning across the strawberry operation.
• Manage crop protection recommendations and inputs in line with budget and procurement procedures.
• Monitor expenditure and maintain accurate records of recommendations and inventories.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, assurance schemes and Dyson Farming standards.
• Collaborate with Dyson Farming Agronomy team to share knowledge and develop best practices.
