  • Develop financial models to support recommendations and transactions.
  • Manage transactions, negotiations, structure development and post‑transaction integration.
  • Maintain client relationships and identify new opportunities.
  • Identify industry trends and benchmark against peers through research and conferences.

Job description

Join our team as an Strategy and Execution Support Officer. In this role, you will provide independent, balanced advice and guidance to senior stakeholders, supporting problem identification, solution development, and effective decision‑making. You will also be responsible for producing high-quality Board and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) materials.
To be successful as a Strategy and Execution Support Officer, you should have experience with:

  • A proven ability to develop Board / ELT-level materials, with ample attention to structure, clarity, conciseness, and accuracy.
  • Ensuring consistency and traceability across reporting for multiple initiatives, maintaining aligned messaging, clear audit trails, and effective version control.
  • Collaborating with senior stakeholders across functions (including risk, finance, operations, technology, and business teams), enabling timely, high-quality contributions and constructive challenge where appropriate.

  • The ability to work effectively in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining high-quality outputs and sound judgement on risks, issues, and decisions.
  • A demonstrated track record of strengthening governance practices, ensuring consistency, timeliness, and quality across multiple workstreams.
  • Advanced experience in executive reporting, portfolio management, and/or strategy consulting, ideally within complex transformation environments.

Purpose of the role
To provide independent and balanced advice and counsel to senior stakeholders through problem identification, solving and decision making practices.
Accountabilities
  • Provision of strategic advice to Group Executives to support the decision‑making process of business challenges and opportunities.
  • Development and implementation of strategic advisory incentives to grow and optimise the bank’s operations, through market research and analysis.
  • Collaboration with various stakeholder groups to identify the appropriate strategic direction type to meet the needs of Barclays clients and investors.
  • Development of financial models to support strategic recommendations and transactions through financial data analysis, financial projects and considering the financial impact of transactions.
  • Management of transactions, negotiations, transaction structure development and post‑transaction integration.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders to maintain client relationships, and develop new relationships to identify opportunities.
  • Identification of industry trends, maintain peer benchmarking and developments related to strategic advisory services by attendings conferences, participating in training and conducting market research.

  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises ( in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.

  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
