Job summary

Hedges Direct is seeking a Stock Manager to ensure stock is in the right place at the right time, supporting a market-leading delivery promise. You will manage inventory accuracy, monitor levels, and coordinate with Buying, Trading, and Operations teams to optimise stock intake and transport costs.

You will use Business Central and Excel to analyse ERP data, lead a team, and drive improvements in stock processes, reporting, and stock availability to sustain customer satisfaction.

• Proven ability to strategically plan and manage stock across diverse product categories.
• Proven experience managing and developing a team to deliver high performance.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret ERP data and drive informed inventory decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, adept at influencing senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Meticulous attention to detail with a strategic mindset balancing operational demands and long-term objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end inventory planning function to meet demand while balancing availability, working capital, capacity and inbound logistics.
• Consolidate supplier orders and optimise delivery frequency to reduce transport costs and inefficiencies.
• Ensure purchase orders are confirmed and updated within Business Central with clear visibility of stock.
• Review supplier stock updates and reflect changes in internal systems to guide planning decisions.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams on delivery dates, quantities and changes to stock intake.
• Highlight potential stock issues early and work with Buying/Trading Managers to resolve.
• Support development of supplier performance measures on delivery accuracy, stock quality, lead times and volumes.
