Job description

Amazon's Global Corporate Procurement (GCP) team manages several billions in annual global spend across Professional Services — spanning areas such as Risk and Insurance, Banking, Financial Services, Software Implementations, Protective Services, Audit and Accounting, and Legal Services. As the organization's demand for these services continues to grow, so does the need for procurement professionals who can deliver meaningful savings targets while maintaining quality and enabling business agility.

Key job responsibilities
  • Drive measurable cost savings across complex, global sourcing engagements valued in the tens of millions of dollars, from strategy development through to contract execution
  • Design and lead end-to-end sourcing strategies that balance business needs, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency across multiple categories
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business units — including Tax, Legal, HR, and Technology — translating their requirements into procurement solutions that deliver value
  • Negotiate commercial terms and contracts directly with C-level supplier executives to secure sustainable, long-term partnerships
  • Grow procurement's influence across the organization by expanding the scope of spend under management and demonstrating the strategic value of the function
  • Deliver procurement analytics and data-driven insights that inform category strategies and support stakeholder decision-making
  • Provide structured project management across sourcing initiatives, ensuring milestones are met and results are delivered on time
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking to identify opportunities, assess supplier landscapes, and inform sourcing recommendations
  • Contribute to the development of category management plans that drive long-term value and supplier performance
  • Influence business unit leaders to adopt improved procurement practices and embed procurement earlier in their planning processes
A day in the life

Your morning might start with a cross-functional alignment call for an upcoming RFP involving three business units, followed by analyzing bid responses and building a recommendation deck for senior leadership. After lunch, you could be on a negotiation call with a strategic supplier's C-suite to finalize contract terms, then pivoting to a spend review with Finance to validate savings actuals against targets. You might close the day by coaching a business partner through the supplier evaluation framework for an upcoming engagement. No two days look the same — you will balance long-range strategic planning with hands-on execution, often managing five or more active sourcing engagements simultaneously across different stages of the lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in project management
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
