Job description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our Operations team. This role is critical in resolving single-source supply risks, ensuring first-line component quality control, and driving strategic sourcing initiatives across international markets. By collaborating closely with various stakeholders—including vendors, internal teams, and management—these experts develop procurement strategies that align with the organization's overarching objectives.

Main Tasks (Sourcing)
  • Work with Technical Program Manager to achieve growth strategy for Verification Instrument business. Including derisking Supply Chain, and growing Production, Technical Support and Post-launch engineering capability through new locations and supplier partners
  • Support the Technical Programme Manager to specify suitable components and systems (procured or manufactured) for post-launch products in order to meet the objectives of the project including component supplier alternatives and/or re-specification if required.
  • Procurement of sampling components
  • Evaluate key components to be targeted for cost reduction and / or sourcing strategies
  • Manage projects/new programs when transitioning sources of supply (global). Identify new opportunities to improve value and performance which deliver demonstrable benefits for the business
  • Identify optimal purchasing opportunities through leveraging existing expertise and resources, collaborating with new and existing suppliers
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations, including ethical sourcing and sustainability standards
Main Tasks (Quality Control)
  • Conduct first-line quality inspections on critical components upon receipt, ensuring they meet predefined technical specifications and quality standards before integration into production or further processing.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to establish and maintain inspection protocols, acceptance criteria, and documentation standards.
  • Identify and elevate non-conformances or deviations, initiating corrective actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues promptly and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain detailed records of QC findings, including inspection reports, test results, and supplier performance metrics, contributing to continuous improvement and supplier evaluation processes.
  • Support the development and refinement of component qualification procedures, including sample testing, dimensional checks, and material verification.
  • Participate in supplier audits and technical reviews, providing input on quality risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality policies, particularly in sectors with strict component integrity requirements (e.g., aerospace, electronics, medical devices).
