Job summary

Oxfordshire County Council seeks a Service Manager – Access, Attendance and Alternative Education to lead multiple specialist teams and strengthen educational inclusion across the county.

You will integrate strategic planning with delivery, drive improvements in attendance and ensure compliance with safeguarding and statutory duties, while building productive partnerships with schools, health and social care to support vulnerable learners.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in educational access, attendance and inclusion.
• Degree or equivalent professional qualification required, with a management qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong safeguarding focus and knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across the County Attendance Team, Exclusion Reintegration Team and Alternative Learning Pathways Team.
• Oversee attendance, children missing education, elective home education, and alternative provision duties; ensure delivery under relevant legislation.
• Collaborate with schools, providers, health, social care and partners to improve outcomes, reintegration pathways and value for money.
