Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a Senior Accountant (MTFP) to shape the financial future of the city. You will build models for the medium-term plan, monitor business rates, council tax and grants, and provide insightful financial analysis to support executive decisions.

The role sits in the Financial Strategy area with hybrid working and a focus on robust financial governance. You will lead on developing and maintaining the council’s MTFP and related reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience of developing and delivering medium-term financial plans.
• Ability to translate complex funding into actionable insight.
• Strong communication of financial information to non-finance audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop financial models for the Medium Term Financial Plan (MTFP).
• Monitor funding streams and track grants and rates.
• Provide analysis and challenge to inform senior decision-makers.
