Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a strategic School Business Manager to join a Bradford-based secondary school’s SLT. You will oversee non-instructional functions, lead financial strategy, HR, health and safety, and estate management to support outstanding educational outcomes.

You will line-manage the facilities, HR and IT teams, ensure safeguarding compliance, and report to the Governing Body. A CSBM/DSBM or equivalent qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as SBM, Operations Manager or senior finance lead in a secondary school.
• Professional qualification in SBM or degree in business/finance.
• Proficient with school MIS and financial management packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy and forecast budgets for the school.
• Manage multi-million-pound budget and procurement processes to maximise value for money.
• Line-manage facilities, HR, admin, IT and support staff teams.
• Ensure health and safety, safeguarding and data protection compliance across the site.
• Prepare detailed financial and operational reports for Governing Body and sub-committees.
