Job summary

Government Recruitment Service seeks a Risk Manager for the Manchester Digital Campus project, based in Leeds with hybrid working and frequent UK travel. You will own and implement risk, issue and opportunity management across multiple departments, coordinating with senior stakeholders to drive progress.

The role supports major government transformation programmes and requires strong risk governance experience, with the MDC programme delivering substantial social and economic benefits.

Responsibilities

• Issue management strategy to engage all parts of the enterprise and manage uncertainty.
• Develop regular risk, opportunity and issue reviews with Lines of Development and external partners, ensuring the central register is robust.
• Conduct adhoc deep dives into risks or opportunities with the wider team and craft effective mitigation strategies.
• Collect and share data to support wider GPA, Cabinet Office and NISTA delivery and use data/AI tools to understand MDC risks.
• Scan the horizon for opportunity, change and risk and reflect these in programme activity and governance briefs.
• Work with the SRO, MDC Programme Directors and HMT to ensure assurance and quantification within the business case and wider delivery.
