Job summary

AXIS Capital, a leading global specialty insurer, is seeking an Underwriter – Portfolio Solutions (Property) to help grow our smart follow portfolio offerings. The role involves underwriting Property delegated arrangements, auto follow, and algorithmic business within guidelines, partnering with brokers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and technical experience writing Property classes.
• Full understanding of delegated underwriting policy and procedures.
• Familiarity with FCA, PRA, and Lloyd’s compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting systems such as PowerBI, Riskwrite, IRIS, Swordfish.
• Ability to analyse data and present insights clearly.
• Familiarity with portfolio management and exposure control.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite binder business within agreed authority and support referral underwriting.
• Own Binding Authority Agreements to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Liaise with Brokers and Coverholders to support the Portfolio.
• Conduct regular portfolio reviews and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborate with Delegated Authority Management and Compliance teams to meet standards.
• Communicate underwriting, audit, and conduct risk issues to the Unit Head.
• Monitor and report emerging risks or control failures.
• Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of underwriting systems and records.
• Coordinate delegated authority processes and support audits.
• Develop product and underwriting knowledge; participate in projects.
