Job summary

Kingsley Recruitment is seeking an experienced Property Director to lead a substantial, diverse property portfolio for a charitable housing organisation in the UK. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will shape long-term strategy, manage a dedicated team and drive sustainability, investment and governance across residential, commercial and rural assets.

The role demands strategic vision, strong leadership and a proven track record in asset management, acquisitions and capital planning.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing large and diverse property portfolios.
• Strong track record in strategic asset management, property investment and estate planning.
• Experience leading acquisitions, disposals and development opportunities.
• Proven leadership experience, including managing professional teams and external consultants.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience developing capital investment programmes and budgets.
• Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to influence senior decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the long-term strategy for a diverse residential, commercial and rural property portfolio.
• Lead and develop a high-performing property team, providing strategic direction and operational oversight.
• Oversee planned investment, maintenance and refurbishment programmes across a substantial residential estate.
• Drive acquisition, disposal and asset optimisation strategies to maximise long-term value.
• Identify development and investment opportunities across the wider property portfolio.
• Lead business cases, feasibility studies and due diligence for major property transactions.
• Manage external consultants, managing agents and professional advisers, ensuring high standards of performance and value.
• Oversee compliance with property legislation, governance and health and safety obligations.
• Develop and manage multi-year capital investment plans and revenue budgets.
• Lead sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency and Net Zero programmes across the estate.
• Prepare reports and strategic recommendations for senior leadership and governance boards.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, occupiers, external partners and advisers.
