What your day will look like

The Strategic Project Director (m/f/d) coordinates the implementation of the Thinkproject business solution and/or coordinates the managed operations of the Thinkproject business solution. Ensures that strategic initiatives are effectively executed, measurably successful, and organizationally transformative - bridging the gap between high-level strategy and day-to-day operations.

  • Solution Design – Define scalable solution architectures that align customer requirements with Thinkproject’s product capabilities and best practices.
  • Technical Leadership – Lead the technical design of complex implementations, ensuring alignment across business, functional, and system layers.
  • Discovery & Analysis – Conduct workshops and requirements sessions with customers to capture business needs and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Integration Expertise – Design and validate system integrations, data flows, and API configurations across Thinkproject and external systems.
  • Collaboration – Work closely with Project Managers, Consultants, and Product teams to ensure seamless solution delivery.
  • Governance – Maintain adherence to Thinkproject’s architecture principles, security standards, and delivery frameworks.
  • Innovation – Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the Services/Delivery organisation by introducing best practices, templates, and automation.
  • Customer Advisory – Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing strategic and technical guidance during implementation and beyond.
  • Quality Assurance – Oversee solution validation, testing, and sign-off to ensure deliverables meet performance, scalability, and quality expectations.
  • Documentation – Produce clear, structured solution documentation for internal and customer use.
What you need to fulfill the role
  • Education: Completed education at HBO or WO level (or equivalent).
  • Construction Industry is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel is required.
  • 5-10 years of Project Management experience, out of which at least 5 years as Project Manager/Lead having managed and led projects and teams individually.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of industry software solutions, best practices, and service delivery standards, as well as familiarity with the TP portfolio is a plus.
  • Functional Expertise: Project Manager certificate, one of the following certificates PRINCE2 Practitioner Certificate, PMI Certificate or SCRUM Master are a plus.
  • Industry Expertise: Strong knowledge of the construction, infrastructure, and energy sectors, specifically in relation to the asset management lifecycle. Experience with software implementation projects.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience navigating complex, politically sensitive environments, with the ability to manage various stakeholders effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Team Collaboration: A team player with strong leadership abilities, able to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams toward achieving shared goals.
