The Opportunity: Strategic Procurement Partnerships Manager

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Procurement Partnerships Manager to join their team.

The Strategic Procurement Partnerships Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with the organisation's members, suppliers and key stakeholders while delivering sourcing and procurement initiatives that drive commercial value and positive customer outcomes.

Acting as a trusted partner, the role supports the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing strategy, supplier engagement, tendering, contract implementation and performance management, ensuring compliance and alignment with customer requirements. Working closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams, the role holder identifies opportunities for cost savings, process improvement and contract optimisation, while managing multiple projects, stakeholder engagement, governance, reporting and risk management to achieve agreed commercial objectives.

DUTIES (included, but not limited to):
Strategic Account Management
  • Develop and maintain customer account plans aligned to member objectives.
  • Build effective working relationships with procurement leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular customer review meetings to demonstrate value and identify opportunities.
  • Act as a day-to-day point of contact for assigned members.
  • Maintain accurate customer activity and opportunity records within CRM systems.
Procurement & Strategic Sourcing Support
  • Support customers in achieving procurement objectives through effective sourcing solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with sourcing teams to identify and develop procurement opportunities.
  • Support market engagement activities, customer requirement gathering and supplier discussions.
  • Provide guidance on procurement processes and good practice.
  • Assist customers in maximising the value of the organisation's contracts and frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve contract utilisation and compliance.
Customer & Supplier Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain effective customer and supplier relationships.
  • Support the resolution of commercial, contractual and operational issues.
  • Facilitate collaboration between customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Represent the organisation at customer meetings, reviews and events.
  • Promote partnership working and continuous improvement.
Data Analysis & Value Delivery
  • Analyse spend, utilisation and contract performance data to identify opportunities.
  • Work with Commercial Analytics teams to develop customer insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare customer reports and presentations demonstrating realised and potential value.
  • Monitor progress against agreed customer objectives.
Member Onboarding & Implementation
  • Support onboarding activities for new members.
  • Assist with contract implementation and adoption activities.
  • Ensure customers understand available procurement solutions and services.
  • Support change management and communication activities associated with sourcing initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Support engagement between customers, sourcing teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Deliver presentations to procurement and operational audiences.
  • Communicate sourcing opportunities, project updates and value outcomes effectively.
  • Build credibility through commercial knowledge and customer focus.
Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure activities comply with organisational policies and procurement regulations.
  • Maintain awareness of procurement legislation and best practice.
  • Support audit, governance and compliance activities when required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Essential
  • Experience in procurement, sourcing, category management or contract management.
  • Good understanding of procurement and sourcing processes.
  • Experience building and maintaining customer and supplier relationships.
  • Ability to identify and support commercial value opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret commercial and financial information.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to review and understand commercial contracts and procurement documentation.
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Well organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable
  • NHS or wider public sector procurement experience.
  • Experience of healthcare procurement, group purchasing organisations or shared procurement services.
  • Working towards MCIPS qualification or equivalent procurement accreditation.
  • Experience supporting sourcing projects or contract implementations.
