Job summary

Laing O'Rourke, part of the Civil Works Alliance, seeks a Procurement Manager for Sizewell C in Ipswich. You will lead procurement strategies across subcontractors, materials, plant and services, delivering value and managing supply chain risks.

Hybrid working is available with travel support options. The role requires leadership of procurement teams, strong negotiation with suppliers, and ensuring governance and nuclear-regulated compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Procurement Manager or senior procurement role in construction, civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of procurement strategies, tendering processes and supply chain management.
• Experience leading procurement teams with varied levels of experience.
• Excellent negotiation skills and supplier relationship management.
• Knowledge of contract law, commercial principles and procurement governance.
• Experience in risk and opportunity management, and logistics planning.
• Ability to influence at all levels and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Implement procurement strategies aligned with project objectives and governance.
• Own procurement activities for subcontractors, materials, plant and services.
• Support tendering, market analysis, supplier selection and risk assessments.
• Lead supplier engagement and negotiations to secure best value.
• Provide market intelligence and cost advice for decision making.
• Manage and develop procurement professionals and teams.
• Build strong supplier relationships and monitor supply chain performance.
• Develop Local Sustainable Procurement plans with cross‑functional input.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear regulations and ethical procurement standards.
• Produce procurement reports and KPIs for project performance.
