The role focuses on developing corporate procurement strategy, policy and risk mitigation while leading a multi-disciplinary team across departments and collaborating with commissioners and service managers to share best practice.

You will drive governance on procurement legislation, deliver programmes and shape market approaches to meet future needs in a public sector context.

Responsibilities

• Develop and inform procurement strategy, policies and risk mitigation.
• Lead strategic procurement team acrossClient and partner departments, ensuring integrated operation.
• Collaborate with service managers and commissioners to share best practice and drive improvements.
• Provide governance on procurement legislation within the public sector.
• Lead and deliver procurement programmes and projects with multi-disciplinary teams and produce business cases and contracts.
• Manage team performance through appraisals, objectives and coaching, pursuing professional qualifications.
• Engage users, communities, Members, commissioning partners and suppliers to ensure service benefits.
• Deliver procurement analysis, sourcing strategy, cost modelling and market shaping to meet client needs.
• Shape the market to meet future procurement needs.
