Job summary

Knightwell Recruitment is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager for a Chartered Accountancy Practice in the United Kingdom. You will lead a portfolio of SME clients, oversee statutory accounts, tax compliance and advisory work, and manage junior staff to deliver high-quality service.

The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership and the ability to build long‑term client relationships with a hands-on, client-facing approach.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified (Essential).
• 3–5 years post-qualified experience in a UK Accountancy Practice.
• Experience managing a client portfolio and mentoring juniors.
• Strong knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105; UK tax knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients; primary contact.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Review and prepare statutory accounts under FRS 102/FRS 105.
• Review and prepare corporation and personal tax returns.
• Assist with tax planning and advisory work.
