Job summary

Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland is seeking a Buyer (Direct – Packaging) to own the packaging category and drive value across our businesses. The role involves working with stakeholders and suppliers to deliver sustainable, commercially effective packaging solutions.

Based at the East Leake site with three days on-site and regular travel to Saint-Gobain sites and suppliers, you will lead tender activity, manage supplier relationships and ensure packaging regulatory compliance across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, ideally with packaging or related category.
• Strong commercial awareness with ability to analyse spend and impact on business.
• Understanding of packaging regulations and sustainability considerations.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the packaging category and identify opportunities to improve value.
• Lead procurement on packaging regulations adherence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to leverage collective spend and improve efficiencies.
• Develop and manage supplier relationships with site visits and supplier engagement.
• Lead and support tender and sourcing activities with stakeholders.
• Monitor spend, contracts and supplier performance considering cost, quality, sustainability and regulatory requirements.
