Job summary

University of Cambridge seeks a seasoned Business and Operations Manager to provide senior strategic and operational leadership for the Department of Psychiatry and Cambridge Mind and Brain Institute.

You will shape the strategic aims of a large academic community and lead an integrated professional services team, ensuring governance, business planning and day-to-day operations align with world-class teaching and research.

Qualifications

• Senior professional services manager with demonstrable experience in managing large teams and delivering strategic planning and change at tactical and operational levels.
• Strong planning, relationship-building, and persuasive communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience within the UK Higher Education sector is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Heads of Institutions on strategic development and sustainable management of the Institutions.
• Lead and manage the integrated professional services team supporting research, teaching and administration.
• Oversee governance, service delivery, and committee servicing to ensure high standards.
• Manage financial resources and business planning, including oversight of grants and other income.
• Drive change and business improvement projects, and oversee internal and external communications.
• Ensure the effective management of sites, buildings, and facilities including health, safety and regulatory compliance.
