Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 9 Director of Operations to lead the Trust's planned care strategy and drive excellence across elective services, diagnostics and cancer pathways. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will shape transformation programmes and oversee large-scale delivery.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in management or equivalent experience.
• Extensive leadership in a large acute healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of NHS organisation and regulatory framework.
• Proven track record in service change and performance improvement.
• Strong financial and budget management skills.
• Ability to lead multi‑agency collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to elective services, diagnostics and cancer pathways.
